I’m not really sure what’s happening with me. Before I get into what I mean by that, I have to say that this is not a complaint by any means. Whatever it is—planets & stars aligning, organisms in the tap water, or just the right combination of chem trails raining down upon me—it’s glorious.
Over the last year and a half, I’ve been having some sort of creative surge. I’ve been writing book after book after book, and ideas for future stories are pouring out my brain like I somehow tapped a keg.
No kidding, I have several years worth of stories fully formed in my head, ready to be written.
And not only that, I’ve been creative in other areas as well—stuff I plan on sharing with you all very soon. It’s all been very exciting to me. I’m thankful for this newfound source of energy and inspiration, wherever it may come from.
So, I’ll get to the point…
When I first started Doom Fiction, the entire creative team was just me. Not necessarily because I’m a control freak (I’m not), but more because in the beginning, only a handful of people cared about what I was doing. I’ve never been the most popular kid in school. That was never my personality. I was always the weird kid who spent too much time in his head. Now I’m the weird adult spending too much time in his head. Some things never change.
But some things DO change! And the Doom Fiction family is one of those things!
Over the last year, several creatives have done outstanding work for/with Doom Fiction, including narrator Connor Brannigan, artist Alexander T Cardosi, and authors Joseph Bouthiette Jr and Zachary T Owen. Now we’re adding two more to the team: Heather Coy Burton and my son, Sullivan Pauley!

They’ll be working on something we call Doom Portal, which is a cool project we’ll be rolling out in the near future. Specifically, Heather will be creating unique items (that will soon be available to purchase through a new storefront) and Sullivan will be running the Doom Portal TikTok account, which will regularly post both Doom Fiction and Doom Portal content.

We’re all very excited about starting this new venture together! I couldn’t ask for a better team of collaborators. Can’t wait to share more information on this over the coming weeks!
Until then!
