It’s. So. Cold.
But no worries… just because it’s cold doesn’t mean we can’t still GET WEIRD! I mean, it’s still Saturday, right?
Right.
So, let’s get weird.

So, I’ll be honest with you. I woke up crazy early this morning and watched this week’s movie without you. I feel terrible too. I hope you can forgive me. If it’s any consolation, the movie is sorta meh.
What’s the movie, you ask? Why, it’s Wes Craven’s Invitation to Hell. It has some nice moments and is surprisingly watchable, but it does take its sweet time before showing you any of the good stuff. Over an hour of this is just the protagonist observing things and thinking, “Well, that isn’t how it’s supposed to be. Hmmm.”

The villain is great, though! I really enjoyed her (played by the beautiful Susan Lucci). She runs a country club for inhabitants of the underworld. Hey, they need a place to relax in the sun too!

I found this movie on YouTube by accident. I was actually looking for Invitation to Hell (1982), directed by Michael J. Murphy. I have my eye on this Indicator bluray boxset that contains all of his microbudget films, but wanted to get a taste of his style before I dropped $100 for the set. No luck. I’ll keep digging.

Alright, folks. I’m off to drink coffee, paint skulls, and hang out with the Cocaine Bear (yes, the actual Cocaine Bear). This is my life. 😆
Until next time!
