Weird!
Today we’re getting weird with a vampire.
Anyone who knows me knows I can’t stand hearing the same story twice. This is why I hate a great deal of horror—it’s so repetitive, unoriginal, and often even features the same types of creeps! Zombies, vampires, werewolves, etc. typically bore me half to death.
Now, with that said, there’s nothing I love more than an original horror story, something totally new that finds a unique way to get under my skin. I’m thinking films like Hellraiser, Videodrome, Get Out, and Evil Dead. That’s how my brain operates. That’s where you’ll find me.
Every now and then (though it’s not often) a vampire or zombie flick will feel like a totally new thing, and oftentimes I find myself enjoying it.
This week we’ll be watching one of those films. Though The Reflecting Skin is technically a vampire story, I promise it isn’t anything like the other vampire stories you’ve heard/seen before—especially those featuring sparkling vampires.
