ODDITIES THEATER: Hellraiser (1987)

Yo ho ho! It’s Saturday! And what do we do every Saturday? Yup, you know it… we get weirddddddddd.

Today we’re watching one of my all-time favorites, an absolute classic: Clive Barker’s Hellraiser.

The first time I ever watched this, my mind was bubbling. I was in awe of its originality. Such creativity! There’s truly nothing else like it. I like to revisit this one every year, and with the Fall weather in full swing, there’s no better time than the present.

If you like this, I recommend reading the original novella it was based on, The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker. I also recommend watching Hellraiser II & III, but don’t waste your time with the many other sequels. Like many of the characters within it, the Hellraiser franchise has been suffering for a long, long time. At least we still have those first few to go back to.

Alright, well enjoy your extra long weekend, everyone! Stay safe.

“We have such sights to show you.”
