ODDITIES THEATER: The Boy From Hell (2004)

Folks… it’s Saturday… wanna… get weird?

If so, it’s your lucky day, cause this week on Oddities Theater we’re watching a film that goes FULL WEIRD. Not any of the HALF WEIRD nonsense. Get ready.

Today we’ll be watching a short film that was initially included in Hideshi Hino’s Theater of Horror, Jigoku Kozō (地獄小僧) or The Boy From Hell. I stumbled on this DVD boxset about 2 years ago at a local Half Price Books, and after seeing the cover, I just had to know what it was. Glad I checked it out, as it includes some pretty interesting little films.

From what I’ve read, Hideshi Hino was a huge influence on the work of master Manga artist Junji Ito. I can certainly see it.

Head over to Twitter after watching and let me know what you thought of the film (or if you have any suggestions for future Oddities Theater screenings – just remember they have to be available online for free viewing in order to qualify, that way we can all join in on the fun).

Hope you all enjoy your weekend! Come back next week for more mind-melting cinema!
